We are a group of Taijiquan enthusiasts, practicing Traditional Yang Style Taijiquan, specifically the 85 form, following Master Zhao Youbin's style.
Traditional Yang style Tai Chi is not just physical exercise, it is also a form of martial art and meditation that originated in China. It's a holistic practice that involves the mind, body and spirit.
It is characterized by slow, flowing movements and deep breathing. The practice of Tai Chi is said to improve balance, flexibility, and overall health, as well as reducing stress and improving concentration.
The Yang style is the most popular style of Tai Chi and is characterized by its large and expansive movements, which are performed in a slow and relaxed manner. The form typically consists of a series of movements that flow smoothly from one to the next, with each movement building on the last. The traditional Yang style form is typically performed solo and is usually divided into three sections: the opening, the main form, and the closing.
The practice of Tai Chi is said to improve balance, flexibility, and overall health, as well as reducing stress and improving concentration. It is also said to improve cardiovascular health, improve immune function, and lower the risk of falls in older adults.
